What version of Rockbox do you need to run this? The new Kakaroto build from DanYL just gives me unknown usb device on my PS3. Thanks

Mine as well, 4G Grayscale.

To fix this, you have to RESTART your ipod back to normal mode.
To do this, do as follows:

Restart like normal [for my video its select+menu button], then put the ipod on HOLD.

It should go back to the NORMAL start up, then connect to PC and RE-install Rockbox.

I had a hard time following this, when you said "put the ipod on HOLD" are you meaning hold the "Play" button until is goes into standby?

I dont really understand the need to reinstall rockbox either. I have the hermes v3 payload alongside the PL3 payload and the hermes one still works fine. Not only that but you dont even truly have to have rockbox installed, in my case I simply pointed the iplm loader.cfg at the appropriate rockbox.ipod file. I think the problem lies elsewhere, unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with it to say where.

FYI.

Retail update is not working on 'Hermes V4 Ipod video 5th Gen'

I tried patching assassin's creed 2 got error 8xxxxx something. I returned to the Hermes v3 + retail update. Patched successfully.

not sure if it the hermes v4 or bad compile... thanks

just tried mini1g 3.41 from your link and it doesn't load. tried many times to JB, keeps saying unknown device connected and won't show the 2 folders (app_home and install pkg)
