I was wondering if there will be support for ipod nano 5G for ipl, been over this and so many other posts not sure if I had my info mixed up. or if it was the 2g model that would not be supported.

If it ain't there, it won't run!

This is either because:

1. The iPod does not support BockBox.
2. The iPod does support RockBox but its USB hardware will not run the exploit.

Coders aren't simply excluding devices for fun and the reasons have been explained countless times here and elsewhere on the web. If it were possible, it would have been done and unfortunately,it is extremely unlikely that the situation will change.

I have a few questions..It would be great if someone can answer these:

I am using ipod video to JB my ps3.. Installed PSGroove(the first version which requires disc at all times) with BM version 1 , i think.

1) What should i do ,if I wish to install the Hermes v3 payload..Do i just copy the new rockbox.ipod from megaupload com/?d=0R8V1D2T and paste it to PSGroove folder?

2) Right now my games are in the internal drive in LUAN12345/GAMEZ/
If i install the latest OpenBackupManager, will I have to move the games to a different directory? Will my game saves get corrupt ?

Yes you can just copy the rockbox.ipod from megaupload to your PSGroove folder and replace the old one
As long as you install the latest OpenBackupManager and overwrite I believe your games will still be intact.
That is what I do and still keep the Laun12345 as my directory

Hi, I have a following query.

1. I have a using Ipod with Hermes V3 for My PS3.

If I start PS3 in normal way (without jailbreak) then is it OK to connect PS3 to Internet for PSN and in LAN for using Media server. I am using Netgear CG814WG (if someone may advise some firewall setup in the router).
I would like to connect to internet if there is no risk of getting banned by $0ny.

2. In my iopd's boot screen , I don't get the "IpodLinux" option. It does not affect the purpose but I was wondering if there is anything i have missed. Should it be there for some good use?

You haven't missed anything. I don't have the "IpodLInux" option either. I believe they have just added that themselves.

On PS3 3.41 you won't be connecting to PSN whether or not your in Jailbroke at moment unless you want to upgrade to 3.50

i just tried this follow every step but seems only step 1 was successful because only the ipl i menu i see so far but after everything i only see the same 3 options, Apple OS, Disk Mode And Sleep. No Rockbox and most importantly no Psgroove, can anyone help mi out here?

You've missed a step. You have to add the PSGroove Folder, then copy your rockbox.ipod to that folder.

Nano 5g works, Its the nano 2g that doesn't

GOT IT! worked out fine with my ipod. i thought i should be naming the directory (read it somewhere else in the forum). Just add BLES.... into GAMEZ and it worked out fine.

Why do you type in such large font. Takes up so much space.
If your visually impaired, then you can just enlarge the webpage by looking in the lower right hand corner and zoom it in.

I don't generally, but in this case I made an exception in the vain hope that someone browsing this thread would notice it before posting dumb questions regarding which versions of iPod will work and realise that the answer is plain to see in the first post!

I can't follow all of this fast scene stuff, does the open manager and backup manager all install in the same place so i can use only 1, and does the hermes 3 work with backup manager 1?
