[lang=de]Zuerst einmal hallo an alle. Mein erstes Posting hier.

You got the "Yellow Light of Death" (YLOD).

It has nothing to do with firmware updates. It's just a common hardware fault with FAT PS3's.

    You have 2 options.

    1) Send it back to Sony for a repair. They'll charge you a lot.
    2) Fix it yourself with some thermal paste, a heat gun and YouTube video's showing you how to do it.
    60GB (120GB WD Scorpio Drive) PS3 (CECHA01, NTSC), 3.7OFW
    60GB (640GB Samsung Drive) PS3 (CECHC04, PAL), Kmeaw 3.55, Repaired (Dead Laser)
    PSP-1003 FAT, CFW5.00 M33-6 & Prometheus v2
    X-Box 360 Xenon (JTAG'ed, 500GB HDD)

KainUk if he has a 40GB fat ps3 that falls in the 256 nand category, then yes, it could very well be that waninkokos cfw bricked it.

Whether ylod or not, i would think, not 100% sure that it would seem to be the cfw if it is indeed a 256 nand one.

to the OP man, i feel for you, that sucks even if you could afford another one right away.
    Good luck bud. :/

From what I understand, bricked PS3's aren't giving out the YLOD... they just don't work.

Hence why I'm currently going with that angle, plus it was like... 1am when I wrote that reply. He probably has bricked it with the CFW, but YLOD doesn't always = brick, it's usually an RSX and/or Cell issue.

EDIT: Also it sounds like his YLOD hit after installing OFW3.55... but it's hard to tell because Google Translate isn't all that accurate.

[/lang]

wtf i just logged in today and popped up with an update, thinking nothing of it i downloaded and it installed after it finished ps3 started acting funny, wouldnt let me log into psn kept telling me go to wherever u log in on the xmb to sign in even tho i had all my log in info already there that didnt work in the first place then out of no where 20 seconds after update finished it shut off and flashing red light on the front of ps3....tried to turn it back on hopeing it was a fluke and nothing it tries to start but it just started sounding like theres no power for anything...but the cd drive ejects and revs up but no like cpu fan or whatever in there kicking on and a no signal on my tv so the hdmi out isnt working this is without a doubt the update that did this because my internet connection is rare so im usualy offline gaming but i just quit playing offline and decided to play some black ops and and the update broke it no doubt about it...ill be calling playstation tomorrow for sure this is b.s.
btw i have an old fat ps3

They'll just say it's YLOD, then want $150 to fix it.

The fact it happened when you updated your OFW will be considered co-incidental to Sony and you'll have to pay them a ton of cash to fix it... it's very, very unlikely they will do it for free if you're outside the warranty period.

If you bought extended warranty, you should be ok.
