Xmb icons keep spinning at startup

Hey!

Been on this site for years but never registred, got all info i needed just reading all the existing threads but now i got a problem i just cant seem to find any info on.
Everytime i startup the ps3 the game icons just keep spinning for about 45 sec then gets normal.
during the spinning process the Hdd does not blink/loading.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

system specs: ps3 40gb 3.55 kmeaw 640gb internal

I had the same problem a while ago.
Here's what I did:

Go into Recovery Menu. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2YnGGUOJks]YouTube - How to get the Recovery Menu on your PS3[/ame]
Select "Restore file system".
Your PS3 will restart saying "The Hard Disk is corrupt" or something like that.
Press X to OK ;P.
You'll see a progress bar, wait until it finishes and your PS3 will automatically restarts.
Done.

EDIT: Don't worry nothing will be deleted when you select "Restore file system" (saves, games, etc...). "Restore PS3 system" on the other hand will format your internal HDD and restore PS3 to its default settings.

So make sure you select "Restore file system"!
