Will this 1TB HDD work on PS3 Slim?

I'm thinking of buying this internal HDD for my PS3 Slim: Western Digital WD10TPVT Scorpio 1TB interne Festplatte: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehör

Will it work? And I know I have to modify the casing. Is there any risk in doing this?

I don't think it will since its 12.5mm and the PS3 drive bay is 9.5mm i believe, the 1TB has a 3rd platter making the thickness too much, however, there are adapters you can get that let your hang the drive outside the PS3 and you can hide the drive behind the console, but will have the SATA cable stickin out

i just ordered one from newegg.com but you have to put it in without the tray and put some type of backing on it, i used foam.

also not to be rude, but this has been discused many many times, quiq search would have brought it up.

Not sure since i do not speak that language, but if it is 2.5 and 9.5mm then yes.

The sizes that are given there are the following: 10 x 7 x 0,9 cm. Which side are the "9.5mm" you mentioned?
