why cant this happen –
why cant anyone make a program that runs from a PC or Laptop, that can Jailbreak a ps3. why do we need a nokia n900, or ipod or even the ps3 keys.
why cant we run something from a laptop that we can plug in to the ps3.
i was wondering why this cant happen, the pc or laptop must be more powerful than these usb keys or calculators.
or is it that there are no good programmers out there.
PC and laptop USB are HOST devices, not SLAVES. They put out constant voltage and wait for a slave to connect, connecting it up to another HOST (the PS3) simply doesn't work and would probably fry the ports too.
Sure, it's probably possibly but it would require significant hardware modification which would cost more than any dev board, hence nobody is going to do it.
yeah i was wondering this too... as i remember having a lead for my PS2 that was a double ended usb lead i think it was a gameshark lead for transfering saves and cheats...
that didnt fry the ps2... surely it could work for ps3...?
thank you for that, it makes sense. x
Those cables have a slave with two endpoints, so both the pc and the ps2 can be the master. That cable won't be programmable, but in theory you could do it.

Whoa, calm down young sweet gorgeous little princess. It would good, but above the tecnical issues are the early time of jailbreak born. I think we have very good programmers taking care of our dreams and if one day another way to hack ps3 for any other door by pc shows up will be bring to us by these digital heroes hands.
