Why do i have a 320GB PS3 that has a util to create a PS1/PS2 memorycard but i can play PS1 games but not PS2 (LOL) but i do have a folder with PS2/EMU?

Is it just something ''turned'' off and can be switched on again? or..

there are still alot of ps3's out there that have ps2 backwards compatibility and they use the same firmware for all of them.

no, the only way your system will play PS2 games would be Homebrew Emulator or the external add-on device that Sony was rumored to be working on

cause ps1 has been made into one chip basically the same one the used in the ps2 is in the ps3

in PS3s PS1 games have always been played through sofware, but PS2 was hardware emulated, so when it went software the never did get it working to their standards so the just got rid of it, but kept PS1

I couldnt get my backup working last night (rogero) so i played RE2 PS1 on my PS3 .. lol

Still a shame you cant play PS2 games.

i know but if they didnt take it out then the ps3 will still be fairly expensive

which would mean they would be losing more money than they already are in the production of PS3s
