what to do ??

hi.i have been on this site for the last month or so.but this is my first post i have 2 fat ps3 40gb,s 1 is updated to 1.50 which we use for online gaming ect.the other i bought about a month ago 1.41 fw which i use my ti-84 calculator for jb.the later ps3 makes loud fan noises about an hour into gaming i know this is an overheating issue that maybe solved with the 19 fan fix but that means i have to open it up so the warranty invalid.am i best to take it back where i got it from and get a slim? if so how do i reset it so there is no xbm ect?

In the System menu there is an option to Reset to Factory Defaults. You may want to run the backup utility first, also found in the System menu, to backup any data you may want to save on it (save games, etc)

Is this your JB console or your online console? If it's your JB console, I would trade it back in, and see if you can get a console with 3.41 firmware on it again. I just asked the clerk what the return policy was, and told him I was really interested in getting OtherOS. He told me I could exchange as many times as I needed within 7 days, as long as the system was complete and not damaged. Worth a shot

thanks for the quick replys chesh.yes it is the jb console.i have looked on the return policy fron cex where i bought it from if its returned after 8 days if they deem it unfaulty they will return it to me.i dont think they will say its faulty as they wont test it long enough for the fans to kick in.i can sell exchange and get £135 towards a slim console.might just bite the bullet and exchange it.
