What is the best Manager?
What is the best Manager? –
I'm a newbie.
I have just. 37 GB in my internal HDD. So I'm gonna buy an External HDD. I Know that i can not copy files over 4gb. I reag that i can split tahat files and put them in the external HDD.
1) When i split the files i still can install the games from the external hdd?
2) What is the best OM to that ?
1. No. Some managers will allow you to play a game with split files, but as soon as you reach any data that's in that split file, your game will crash. Any managers that are compliant with split files, will warn you that the game cannot be played off of an external HD and will need to be moved to internal to play.

There will be a new manager on the horizon that will be a grouping of all the devs from moh's Open Manager, Gaia, AVCHDGM, and Rogero's and I'm guessing that will be the manager to have. Right now, all the manager originally mentioned have good compatibility and features. It's really just a preference to what you need/want.
I personally like the latest version of Gaia (1.02 I believe)
It looks clean, performs well, and supports cover downloading. It also lets you pick a BD-Dump directory outside of the program folder, which is immensely helpful IMO.
Gaia 1.02 was directly based off of moh's Open Manager 1.17.2, so it's going to be one of the most compatible. Rogero's is also an extremely compatible backup manager too. AVCHDGM adds a lot of the nice UI stuff, and a whole heap of cool features, if you're willing to setup an .ini file to use all of them. Open Manager 2.1+ was created by the guys over at Eltorodo, and I don't necessarily know that much about it, but they do have the feature of installing game data onto your exernal in order to save space on your internal.
See what I mean, that it's mainly just preference? They all work well, and do what they're supposed to do. Personally, I have AVCHDGM, Gaia, and OM 2.1+ all installed on my PS3. I hardly use more then just Gaia, but it's nice to have an option.
I agree with your post! I have OM 1.17.2 along with Gaia & AVCHD(now MultiMAN). They are all good managers. Dean has done some really cool stuff with MultiMAN. Gaia is my personal favorite though.

Thak you all!!!
Ok Gaia is on top..Tell me one thing... We can download the cover games with GAIA but... If we link the PS3 to the internet it doesn't upload her FIrmware to the latest? Can we Play online games?
Another Question: If i install a game using a manager, can i load the game with another, pe, install with GAIA, open with OM2.1g?
Sorry for this questions but i'm new....

No prob. We all started out somewhere. You can connect your PS3 to the internet, and not connect to PSN. Just make sure your auto sign-in options are all set to off. No, you can't play online games in the traditional sense. If you search around the forums, you'll find something called Xlink Kai, which sets up private tunnels between people to play system link games. There's only about 15-20 games supported though.

If one of them wants to install games on the internal underneath the folder OMAN4567456, then use that same folder for every manager (they will ask where you want to save the game when ripping). If you're only using an external drive for all your games, then all of them go into the GAMEZ folder and it's compliant across all managers. It's just when you use internal that you run into some trouble sometimes.

It has so many features and is extremely easy to use and can be configured to your needs by editing an .ini file.
Check it out
One more newbie question...
