Upgrading to OFW 3.73 from Kmeaw 3.55

So my girlfriend updated my PS3 from Kmeaw 3.55 to OFW on accident. At first I was really upset, but now I'm trying to look on the bright side: I can play new games on PSN

My question is, should I format my hard drive to get rid of all the homebrew and games I have saved on my hard drive? I can no longer ftp to my PS3, so I don't know any other way to delete the couple of games taking up space (I still have my stock 60 GB HDD). I'm also worried about Sony monitoring what is saved on my HDD and possibly banning me from PSN.

I was thinking about just manually backing up all my saves and then manually transferring them back rather than using the backup utility. The backup utility would back up my entire HDD right and not just my saves?

transfer what saves you can, am sure some are protected? then just format & your good to go-have been thinking about doing the same on one of mine too, some awesome new games out lately that arent working on CFW yet
