update the second one or.............?

Picked up a cechg01 a few days ago. Right now it has 3.0 on it.

My other ps3 is already loaded up with a 500 gig drive, kmeaw 3.55 and the latest mm.
It's set up pretty much the way I want it to be.

The second one.............
Not sure what way I want to go with it.
Going to try a poll and see if that may help my decision.

Out of the four options, my two favorites are dual boot or update to newest OFW.
I don't really care for online gaming but the ability to get dlc would be nice.
OFW would also allow me to play 100% of the games available on the ps3.
It would also allow me to get Netflix back on the ps3 instead of running it through a tablet.

I don't mind waiting for a good option for dual boot because I am the only one who games in the house and I have plenty gaming systems to keep me busy.

you forgot an option...selling that one (on here or on ebay) and picking up one cheaper that is above 3.55...i got over $200 for one on 3.55 on ebay...then update the newer one and make a little coin in the process

sell the 3.55 or lower one and use the money made to buy another console thats not and update it. like wartutor said can certainly make a little coin on the side.

Great topic and I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have a resource that allows me to get used PS3's for around $40-60 a piece. Although I won't know the FW version I doubt they where ever updated. I already bought a 2nd one because my first unit was only 40gb and I realized that I had to copy some games to the drive to play. I don't really game online and not sure if I would ever be interested in DLC so I was considering on selling them to ebay and just getting a dongle to play newer games.

What would a dual boot option give you? Only had my ps3 a few weeks so still learning a lot.

Dual boot would give the option of running the most current OFW and also allow you to boot into a CFW.
kind of the same thing as a dual boot pc with windows me on one side and windows 7 on the other.

Each has a distinct advantage over the other (at least in my case

).
