Since there's no real "help" section, I guess general would be best.

So, with the popularity of editing eboots recently, I thought I'd give it a try. I failed, miserably. When I unself an EBOOT.BIN to an elf and then make_self_npdrm it back, the new eboot is unusable. If I replace the eboot of a backup, my PS3 kicks me back to the XMB and gives an 80010009 error. This is without me making ANY alterations to the eboot. I followed the directions in the BDVD to HDD/USB thread, same results. I used the tools provided in the thread and I used tools provided by someone on #ps3help who doesn't have the same problem as me. Same results. Using the same tools and the same commands as everyone else, there's more than one outcome. Modified eboots made by others work fine for me, but I can't make my own. Can anyone shed some light on this?
