Great how to, worked out like a charm for me.
I need some help with this. I recently bought a used 40gb system that had video problems, I fixed the video problems and when I put the hdd in, it asked me to update and so on. When trying to install the update it gets this error 8002f14e at 42%, I looked into the error code and it seems like it effects most people with a bad bluray or bad ribbon cable, mine seems to function normally and everything is hooked up properly. I suspected the hard drive had a bad sector, So I took an old 80gb that I know is a working drive and put in, and I got the same error at 42%. The first page of this thread says to use a hdd that has the same firmware, but as this system was used, I have no clue what firmware it had. I'm new to dealing with problems like this so any help with this would be great also I'd like to know if by using the 80gb if i screwed that hard drive up?
I'm getting the error 8002f14e at 14% with 4.21 firmware, does anyone know what might be the problem if it is stopping at 14%, bluray ribbon is fine. It won't update via USB.
getting error 8002F147 at 33% even with a MFW to bypass the drive check?(will this also bypass the controller board check?)
