Hi guys! In relation to a previous of mine regarding PS3's voltage, I have found two Voltage Step Down Adapters for the PS3 and the Xbox 360...I have found two seperate ones, from different companies, although they look *exactly* the same (apart from a slight 'PS3' logo made on one of them)...There is a possibility that one of them is a clone of the other...but which one is which ?!

These step down AC Adapters allow people to use their 110v US/JAP PS3's in 220v regions such as Europe, etc..

I want to get one of them, but I am a bit concerned on how reliable they might be....Has anyone here used any of these two before ?

The two step down adapters are the following:

Dragon Plus Step Down AC Adapter:

    Website link --> here

A small review of it --> here

    Firstsing Step Down AC Adapter:

Website link --> here (you need to scroll down about half a page)

Notice how the above two look strikingly similar :P ... They both even have the *exact* same features listed:

    *Built-in fuse for more safety
    *Compatible with PS, PS2, PS3,XBOX, XBOX 360,System
*Stable and super output power "500W"
*Built-in cooling fan for lower down temperature
*Step down function input: 220V~240V Output: 100V~120V

So what do you think of them ? and which one do you think looks better ? Personally, the Dragon Plus one seems a little better to me...

Also, as of right now, I can only find the Dragon Plus adapter at divineo.cn ...although its quite cheap there, the international shipping is quite an amount !! (US$60 ~ US$120) ... if you come across a shop with cheaper shipping, please do tell me..

And I know about the whole 'PS3 has a universal PSU inside it' debate...but I am just trying to be safe here

    Thanks in advance..

I don't believe its a debate, its a fact about the PSU, plenty of us have opened up a PS3 to have a look for ourselves. I'm also sure there's plenty more people like me that have been running an import PS3 for the last 1.5 years without a stepdown/up transformer

backstar is totally right, u don“t need an step down converter. I have opened a few and they have an universal PSU inside. It is safer to used with out it.
