TVersity Media Server Question...
TVersity Media Server Question... –
Alright, so I finally (after years of trying) managed to get my PC and PS3 to see each other for media streaming...but of course there is a problem(there is always a problem..).
Alright, so at first I noticed the media server was working when completely reconfigured my router. (And maybe some help to people that can't get a media server working no matter what they do, if you have a DSL connection, (PPPoE) you have to set your modem to PPP on router, then enter your connection info in the router to connect from there, if the internet LED on the modem is lit, you did something wrong.)
The WMP11 popped up in the XMB out of nowhere! But no files would show...
So I switched to TVersity, which..is kinda working great. (Except for audio transcoding, I must be missing something somewhere because some of the movies that wouldn't play before play now...but some have garbled sound and eventually freeze up.)
Is there a way to make TVersity show up on the XMB?
When I play the files from the web browser they play in the XMB...but the I can't browse the files through the XMB.
It's not a big deal to me...but no one else in the house can seem to remember what to do with it not being in the Video section of the XMB... (They're not dumb, but for some reason they can't figure it out..or they don't want to..I'm not even sure anymore..)
So yeah..anyone know something about this...does a port need to be forwarded or something?
I spoke too soon, all I had to do was set the QoS for the PS3's port to high, and it's all good. (Except the audio transcoding in some movies.)
