hi all, i recently got me a ps3. its running 3.41 fw
i thought id buy a hdmi cable and a hdmi to dvi. i have plugged it in and it all gets found by the ps3. when i click yes to sending tv signal through hdmi the resolution is way to hi for my tv to hack and i get all green lines
, can i turn it down manually via my viseo input in the settings? i have looked but i dont see an option for resolution.
i have also tried to rest the display settings on boot up but im just going in circles lol. any help would be great thanks

What type of TV are you using?
The PS3 normally detects what resolutions are usable on the TV and uses those by themselves (if you can't do 1980p then it won't try to).

power off your PS3, then continue to hold the power button until you hear a set of 3(?) beeps.
Reboot your PS3 with the HDMI connected. It will prompt you to use HDMI, and do a resolutions check. If it doesn't look correct, press nothing on the controller, and it will revert to SD, at which point you can manually set your video settings correctly yourself.
I believe it takes 45 seconds to revert back to SD, but it could be 30 or 60, I honestly can't remember.
Hope that helps.
