Trouble installing PS3 firmware
Trouble installing PS3 firmware –
My Blu-Ray drive is half dead. However, the daughterboard should be working fine. I only have the daughterboard connected to the motherboard! Nothing else from the Blu-Ray Drive is hooked up to it.
Trying to install OFW 3.55 gives me error loop. When daughterboard is connected, I get a solid blue light and pressing eject would make it blink for a bit and then turns solid again. I'm assuming this response confirms that my daughterboard is still sane. However, I constantly get a dreaded error at exactly 75%. Originally I had my card reader disconnected and thought that was the problem. However, it is now connected and I receive the same error.
I've had success installing through the Blu-Ray Bypass methods but if I do that, then I can't execute any apps.
1. Would my daughterboard be "broken"? AFAIK, there isn't any easy way to fix it so am I SOL?
2. If not, judging from the response then what could be wrong? I haven't disconnected anything except the Blu-Ray Drive and the card reader.
3. Is there any known workarounds to get apps working on the Blu Ray Bypass method?
