Torrent client on ps3

IS it possible to develop a torrent client for ps3?

that is to download themes homebrews and among other things of course....

it seems more convenient not to have to use a pc/laptop everytime you need to get something.

The Homebrew PKG Repository will let you download stuff like homebrew etc when it comes, although I don't think it works using the bittorrent protocol. I don't think it really matters anyway if it has reliable way to fetch files but maybe in the future they could implement that, but currently the files are pretty small for homebrew and themes so there's no need. That said I'm sure it's entirely possible to code a torrent client for ps3 for whatever purpose.

Just wait a bit until we see *nix appear on the PS3, there you will see an explosion of homebrew, and apps (that run on PPC..)

Hello,

i am surprised that a bittorrent client doesn't exist yet on homebrew because it would be nice to get blueray rips downloaded directly to the ps3 without transferring them from a pc or a mac. plus, you need to buy the plus version of utorrent or vuze to transfer them automatically to the ps3.
the question is when will it arrive ?

I would love to know if this had been created so far as like you I hate having to transfer stuff to the PS3 via FTP etc. Does anyone know anything?

there was an irc app a while back but it was only for chat but im sure someone could make a new irc app that supports downloads because you can use irc like a torrent kinda app to download shared content

If you only want a torrent client on the PS3 so you don't have to transfer your pirated films, why not use PS3 Media Server and stream them from your PC?

I am trying to stream using PS3 Media Server but it keeps skipping in the MKV files I play??

as mentioned earlier a torrent client is mainly for larger file (as in pirated games, movies, etc) I believe the largest homebrew we have is mM which is not that large, so I don't foresee any torrent client in the future for PS3
