tomb raider trilogy –
i recently bought tomb raider trilogy and it freezes after 20 min of gameplay. ive been reading about someone transferring this to the hdd. im new at this, so can anyone give me a step by step dummys guide to putting it on my hard drive so i can finally play these games? that is, if this is actually even possible.
You need to jailbreak your system in order to boot from the HDD. Also I would need to know what firmware you are on. Answer these questions and then we can move on forward
Do you have Custom Firmware yet, or dongle for OFW3.41(which you need to backup games to the hdd)? If not I'm guessing you've updated the ps3's System Software past 3.55 to play it since TRT needs 3.56, if this is the case and your on 3.56 DO NOT update further because a new CFW is coming out in a few weeks for 3.56 which will be your only option. If you've got a firmware above 3.56 then there is no news yet of a custom firmware.
I recommend installing CFW but ATM you can only run about 50% of games released over the last few months(which MIGHT change when JFW DH is released) so it's up to you.
If your on CFW there is a 3.55 fix for TRT thats easy to find on google that fixes compatibility AND installs it to the game menu. Hope this helps
Edit: Sorry Titan I got distracted and took too long to post it.
only thing about this is he'll need a nand/nor flasher to install it, but it's only for those that can't downgrade any lower then 3.56 with a nand/nor flasher, if his console allows FW lower then 3.56 than downgrading to 3.55/3.41 is recommended (still with a nand/nor flasher)

thanks a lot for responding so quickly. but, unfortunatley, this all seems well over my head. i dont know anything about jailbreaking or which firmware i need and how to get it. i dont know what a nand/nor flasher is. so we could probably go ahead and close this thread.
