Thinking of buying a PS3
Thinking of buying a PS3 –
09-29-2010,01:51 PM
Hi, i'm interested in buying a PS3 system, however i've been searching and found some posts related to PS3 Fat 80gb discontinued and in every store of my country i couldnt find a FAT PS3, was it discontinued at all ?
Firmware 3.42 was released 7 september, am I right ?
Because i live in Portugal, and for the amount of PS3 boxes the have in different stores i dont think that they are all new batchs. But i can pretend to be interested in buying and ask in the store to open the box just to see if the ps3 doesnt have any marks/scratches and look at the manufactures date ? Cause i really dont want to get a >3.41

Its ok machines here in portugal must be boxed with 3.30 at max, don't worry unexploitable boxes are not on the market yet.

although you can try the machine, and if its not the correct firmware you can return it, and try another or ask for your money back.

According to Wiki:
PlayStation Move was released in the PAL region and most Asian markets on September 15, 2010, in North America on September 17, 2010
And the model i saw at every store is CECH-2504B for 349.90€ (Worten, Fnac, Vobis)... so if this Move Starter Pack was released after september 7 (day of 3.42 firmware) i'm worried it could have the 3.42 and not the 3.41.
Anyway that's what i thought doing
Test if it's good for me, if not... return!

well i don't think the information is correct, you should have an earlier firmware that needs to be updated, because you can use move on 3.41.
