My PS3 got the YLOD and it can't be fixed by reflowing. I just want to gain access to the files stored in my PS3's HDD. I don't care about the games. I care about my saves and my media files like MP3s and JPEGs. Is there a Windows program that can do this now?

No. Theres isn't.
Graf_chokolo and marcan both have successfully disabled hdd encrytion on their ps3s, and since gameos uses ufs2 (correct me if i'm wrong), it is possible that in the future there may be a tool to read these unencrypted hdds.
But reading encrypted hdds would be a lot more difficult, I don't expect to see it happen, at least anytime in the next year imho.

Hdds are encrypted using the hdd serial number combined with the consoleid, it should be possible on your newer ps3 if jailbreakable by using psidpatch to make your new ps3 to match your older one but only if you remember the consoleid of your older ps3
Yes it is sad that after all these keys and such released no one has written a external hdd decrypting program or hdd swap program!
This would actually be beneficial. Hopefully a tool like this comes around, it has the potential of possibly backing up PSN purchased content and their license from a legit console to save having to reactivate it again. Also the possibility of doing a real trophy transfer between a CFW PS3 to a legit PS3 and re-sync via the legit PS3 after copy the respective trophy folders.Quote:
