Talismoon fans PS3.
Hi,My ps3 60gb expires warranty(yeah, the ps3 is made finally 2007.I found it in 2009 in a store!.From begining it's louder(15 blade fan I think+4 years sony paste wtf).
I was thinking change thermal paste + fan.My other ps3(yld first european batch) has the 19 blade fan.
A friend gave me Talismoon new unused. :).
So old 19 blade fan?.Or talismoon 19 blade fan?.
I try search in google the cfm of original fans, not lucky.
But,I think The information of talismoon fan is wrong. The model is T-ps3.So I think the talismoon fan is really made by Terrstar Industry Co (they made T-ps3 model)
Talismoon specs are 2.6A, 2450RPM, 54.32d(b)A, 60 CFM
But I think the true specification are:
PS3 Fan (TPS3), Sell PS3 Fan (TPS3),Air Cooling Fan,Cooling Fan,Fan - Wind Generator
If i'm not mistaken I think the talismoon fan runs full speed at 12 volts which can be very loud. If that is the case and you are annoyed by the noise then you should use the 19 blade fan. If you can stand the noise then using the talismoon fan would be your best bet to keep the system cool.
Edit: I just found out that the talismoon fan has a pwm wire as well so it won't run full speed all the time. If it was me I would go with the talismoon fan just because I have had good success with their products before.
The Talismoon is quieter than the orignal 19 blade. But the talismoon also doesnt fit perfectly in all consoles, and will scrape the heatsinks and make a terrible noise, until it grinds down to the propper size.
My ps3 is 60gb(cechc04).I hope the fan fit.
Another question about talismoon fan.
The pwm works to + and - speed?.
Example: xmb:2º speed ->game 3º speed ->xmb 2º fan speed .(my actual 15 blade fan).
Or rises and falls.
xmb:2º speed ->game 3º speed -> xmb 3º fan speed. And stay at third until you turn off the ps3.
well,Finally I open my ps3,and put the talismoon fan.The thermal paste of sony, was petrified lol,so i add noctua thermal paste
Now my ps3 is Completely silent. The talismon fan works perfect!(not noise).
I very happy.Thanks!.
wish i went your route man, my ps3 had a 15 blade fan, (my 60gb was bought it in dec 2006).
dont really know if launch 60gb ps3 had a 19 blade.
anyway, i bought a fan 19blade off of someone from [H], reapplied the dried up thermal paste and its been running good. but the new update 3.61 has been running the ps3 pretty damn hot and it actually froze while doing a championship race in gt5 bpsec.
now im looking to saving my ps3 before it overheats again and i get a ylod for my basically launch ps3 :(
