So I tried to install the 3.60 spoofer, and it bricked my launch model FAT 60gb. Tried every thing else first in recovery menu - rebuild database, restore file system, reset setting, etc. NADA.

I had no choice, so I reinstalled Kmeaw CFW. Booted up fine, Multiman, emulators running fine - except one thing: My old username came up now with an asterisk * next to it in the XMB, and I cannot access any of my game saves or trophy data.

I created a new user and tried to copy the files over into the new user folder in Multiman file manager, but it still doesn't come up.

So are my old game saves borked? Do I have to start from scratch again, or is there some kind of tool or method to make them work with another user login?

1st off, you bricked it, not the app, if you would have followed directions the right way,it wouldnt have happened.

also when you transfer your old save file to the new save file, transfer all minus param.sfo. see if that works.

about bricking, no offence, but 99% of bricks is due to user errors.

I installed the package file for the 3.60 spoofer

I launched it from the XMB.

It came to the red screen, prompting you to press "X" to install the spoofer.

    I did.

PS3 froze. No beep. No reboot. No return to the XMB. I left it there for 10 minutes. Nothing. It remained on the Red screen, promting to install the spoofer.

I hard rebooted the PS3 after 10 minutes of nothing.

IT Bricked my Ps3, AFTER I followed the instructions. It's not like there was anything confusing about the instructions to install it. No file copying or hex editing. Nothing complicated. It should have installed correctly. It didn't. I have a ton of other apps and games running on my PS3, never had any other problems.

Underball: I bricked mine as well. Same shit, same console. How did you manage to get the recovery menu? I already tried everything, but there's no double beep when holding the power button. And no picture. Idea?

the Normal recovery menu worked for me

Push and Hold the power button until it turns on and then turns all the way off again. Release, then push and hold again until you get the two quick beeps and release, and you will be in the recovery menu.

From there, I just ran the Kmeaw CFW update from a USB stick like the first time. It worked fine.

**** it. I don't need PSN anyway. Haven't used it since they blocked it initially. Just got curious with this tool, thought I'd try it. Mistake.

We're not the only ones, either. Seems lots of the older, 256m nand PS3 consoles are randomly bricking from this spoofer.

And of course, tons of forum trolls/jerkoffs are saying "it's UUrrr Fault, n00b", which is retarded. I co-authored several PSP emulators, and co-developed/beta tested the POPs functionality on the PSP with Dark Alex way back on Version 2.71. I'm anything but a n00b. The difference is, in the PSP hacking scene, people actually bothered to TEST stuff that flashes your console before releasing it. PS3 Development is a ****ing 50/50 chance on nearly every new brew release. Total Crap Shoot.
