Stuck Service in 3.56, options?
Stuck Service in 3.56, options? –
NOW! I know there is no way out of service mode as of yet! However I still want to feel out my options.
I have a 60gb ps3 backwards compatible. I want to keep all my saves and everything on there.
So far my known options are:
1. Gutswap. Not completely sure what that is at the moment but I'll google it.
2. Patience. Wait it out.
3. Buy a new PS3. I've seen 60gb on ebay for 280, used.
4. Send it in. Send it in to sony and see if they will fix it?
Option 3 seems best I guess at the moment, but if I buy a new ps3, can I swap the hard drives and keep all my data?
4 sounds a little worrisome since it was Jailbroken before...
you wont be able to swap hard drives and keep data it will format it when you put in new one. their is another option if your not shy about a few laws?
buy a new one swap them round take faulty one back for a refund however if your ps3 is looking old and tired its worth swapping cases round too so you put the new ps3 internals into old ps3 case so they dont notice its been swapped. a hair dryer on warrenty sticker works a treat. another thing while we breaking the law any way buy a faulty dualshock ps3 of ebay for less than £3 and swap that too
obviousley i wouldnt do the above because im a law abiding citizen
actually thinking it about it you could buy a new ps3 take it out case replace it with some junk to add weight and take that back then you have two ps3's for free well the price of a second hand shell of ebay £10
What about the Rebug option for use another HDD without formating?

Lol so in the end , buy a new ps3 is the only option(in a sense)
I still want the Backwards compatibility of my 60 gig though....
Sorry for the bump.
I bought a ps3 60gb, But I want to keep my save data still.
What do I do? I cant find anything on gutswapping.
Can I make the old ps3's hd, make it an external and extract the saves? Is that possible?
