Many of you have probably encountered this. I borrowed my PS3 to a friend for a few days, and he uses HDMI. I just got it back, and it is stuck in HDMI and I can't see anything on screen to actually get to the options to set it to something else.

Does anybody know a way of fixing this?

While this is just pure speculation, have you tried the recovery mode? I heard it forces it in the composite cables.

Turn the system on, count 20-30 secs for boot,
    Push the PS button,
    Push Left 8 times,
    Push right once,
    Push Down 10 times,
    Push X twice,
    Push Down once,
    Push X twice.

That should put you back into composite mode. At least if your system is on FW3.55 and a US model. I don't know how other region console menus are laid out.
