Strange Behaviour –
12-25-2011,12:24 PM
Hi all,
Because stupid Filezilla deleted a load of important system files and saves etc. I had to restore my PS3 back to default values. I had been on CFW 3.55 and was using Multiman, Blackbox FTP, ShowTime etc. and most if not all games worked for me on Multiman.
The thing is now that I have restored and when I go to system settings it's showing the firmware as 3.60?? WTF?? I still have Install Package Files under game in the XMB and /app_home/PS3_GAME/ is there too but not all the games that worked before (only a few hours ago) are now not working?? The ones that loaded fine are now just exiting back to the XMB after I try to launch them once Multiman has mounted them!! Some still do work and I got Multiman reinstalled as well as Blackbox but I am really really confused as to what is going on??
Am I on CFW 3.55 still or definitely on 3.60?? I am 100% sure I did not update at any stage at all! Is there a way to go back to true 3.55 if I am not there now? I did try to download OFW 3.55 and revert back to that by putting it on a USB but it's not recognising it as a valid update which makes me think I am on 3.60??
Any help would be appreciated,
Mark

Based on the information given, are you sure you didn't at one point try spoofing your firmware version? Do you have a 3.60 game you can try to see if you can play it?
You deleted some game files (maybe even eboots) that are causing the games to not load properly.
Was it Firezilla's fault or your fault why things got deleted?
Saves, game data, and system files are all in different folders and the probability that random ones getting deleted in many different folders is pretty low.

Hey mate,
I think I may have tried to spoof 3.60 at some stage.....is there a way to reverse this?? I would have thought when I restored back to defaults it would return to 3.55?? I unfortunately have no 3.60 games at the moment but Multiman does set the SFO files to 3.55 for some of the games.....
The thing is games that loaded fine like Unreal Tournament etc. that are very old are now not working. I copied all the files across internally and this did work fine before so really strange why not working now?? inFamous is another one that worked fine before without any modification of EBOOTS's etc and now won't load??
I deleted a game directory within the GAMES folder and yet Filezilla starting going off and deleting all sorts of other folders!! And it's done this more than once so I will never remove a game this way again!! The thing is I am now back to a fully restored PS3 but would like it to be on 3.55 and not 3.60 as I think maybe going right back to scratch again may be best?? What do you think?
Cheers,
M

I haven't used a spoofer before and I'm not sure how to reverse it.
Ewww I will keep clear from firezilla thanks for the heads up. The only way to get those games working again would be to re-rip them, it sounds like some files in each game may have been deleted. I believe when backup managers find the eboots they list the game there regardless whether all the game files are in there.
Other things you can try doing is deleting all of the game data before trying to launch the game (not your save data, there is usually game data that gets installed on the HDD, delete that).
Best of luck!

Great mate, will try that. Luckily I have all\most of the games backed up on an external so what was on the PS3 is exactly what I am copying back over, that is why it makes very little sense why they now do not work and they worked before!! Is there a certain Multiman needed or BDEMU file?? Or a certain way of booting them?
Does anyone else know how to remove the 3.60 spoof??
Cheers,
M
