Sports Champions want to update to version 1.01

I have the PS3 break on order and I just purchased the MOVE bundle. It comes with Sports Champions and it's asking me to update the sw to 1.01. It says I can't play it until I do so.
Is this safe to do? I don't want to mess up my 3.4.1 fw.

I did it, no problems here.

just press circle, the it will load your game fine. dont need updates
