    so i take it this wasnt sony forcing an update on you and just online data expanding out right!?

    Yup, it seems to have been downloading a bunch of images and other stuff for news, "what's new" and the like, no silent update, nothing sinister.

    I think it's worth pointing out that the "DNS trick" reroutes your DNS to a server set up by Aaron Lindsay, who - as far as I can tell - is a well-established homebrew developer. He has a Twitter feed, a blog and so on. More here:

I don't think so, not apple, not microsoft, not java, NO BODY.
