Can i use this as a headphone/earphone?

i've heard you can only use this for chatting to friends but was wondering if i can mute my tv and stck this on while playing games to hear game sounds at night time

I found the official Ps3 headsets to be uncomfortable and fall off your ear easily.

Another solution which IMO would be better and you would get stereo output would be to buy Turtle Beach XLC's from Adsa for about £12.99 in some stores.

If you use HDMI then you can use the standard Av out cable at the same time to plug into the TB XLC with audio output settings set to go through the AV out. the TBs have an audio inline phono plugs

You wont be able to use it to chat but then again if you want it for quiet night time use you wont be anyway. BUT I cant remember if the XLCs have a mic output wire or else you would be able to use the XLC with your ps3 to chat if you purchase a USB sound card dongle

I can do this with my PS3/usb sound dongle and TB x11's as they do have a mic output wire.

Also they come in handy if you have an Xbox too.

No. For some crazy reason you can't use a Bluetooth headset as an audio out! I have a wireless bluetooth headset and was excited to use it to play some games, but after messing around for an hour or two I found out that they only support 'chat', which I would never need to use!

I have a love/hate relationship with the Sony headset. It sounds great, I come across nice and clear, but the way it fits is slightly off, and when you put it on mute there is a CONSTANT beep in your ear; so its pretty annoying to wear while muted.

I have a sony bluetooth headset but for some reason you can only use the microphone on it and not audio... the audio still goes through the TV.

So no it wont work.
