What I don't get is why should Sony ban consoles just for running CFW?
How many of the CFW people are running backup's?
How many own all their games that they have backedup?
How many people are cheating?
Finally, how many people that own their game(s) are cheating?
What peeves me is how people think that CFW, pirating games, and cheating are somehow all the same thing. A lot of dev's here have CFW, but don't pirate or cheat. I've bought the handful of games I wanted and if the CFW/PSJB didn't happen I wouldn't have bothered since they were all expensive and it was only three titles. I'd never cheat online as that ruins the fun of the game. Then there are people that get their jollies off cheating online. I don't think a CFW ban will curb the rate of cheaters and last time I checked, most games update themselves regardless to if you're logged into the PSN, which means it won't stop offline pirating.
All a CFW ban seems to do is stop people from buying PSN content. Which will lead to people sharing said PSN content via pirating. Even now PSN content is being pirated. A lot of people on JB are still buying it, and a lot of people have already bought some of it. If you cut both of those people off, they'll only be pirating it. The game dev's loose, the players loose, Sony breaks even, and pirates will still win.
Having CFW is like owning a box of condoms, you have them but whether you're getting laid or not is still in question.
Never confuse heroism with simple self interest.
You must first be illusioned, before you can be disillusioned.
