single lens replace with a dual lens keeping original logic board?

hi i have cech03 on ofw 4.00 and the laser has died will read cd/dvd but not bluray so my question is a simple one i have a few good working dual lasers lying around could i just replace the single lens laser with a dual lens laser if i keep the original deck and logic board? i know it will fit physicaly but will the logic board run a dual lens laser? i cant downgrade and remarry the whole drive so i have to replace the laser

i'd like to know this too....does anyone know for sure? actually finding it hard to tell which model i have, and don't wanna go buying a new drive if it's not gonna work :s

Need to replace w/ same style laser. I have personally tried swapping them. No laser shows & you get a bad burning smell immediately when the laser goes to read a disc.
