Also Sony tries to pretend that they can legally bind you with a PSN TOS agreement regarding what you do with your hardware. If PSN and PS3 are infact two different products, then you cant take something away depending on what you do with something completely different than the service you are agreeing to.
You are again comparing apples and oranges unless you are actually trying to use the PS3 itself to connect to XBOX Live.
For instance, if you buy an xbox they can say "if you play ps3 we can refuse to let you play xbox live".
If the petition is based on false information then it is worse than no petition at all.
Also petitions are important for two reasons. A) it informs people what is currently happening
