I have spent literally hours reading up on statute laws, EFF, forums. Addressing issues like the HDD brick. ect ect. Please please please. Read and sign this. I know its long but its the only way we can all fight back at this point.

And i have even added a terms section for us to update that i feel every non pirate would feel okay about.

Ideas or aguements can easily be added to the thread at the bottom of the page.

No, go read up on hacking. Hackers do not have to extract any information from a target computer to be labelled as a hacker.

Sorry for the all caps part, it started as an angry rant on the sony boards when they started issuing the bans. Except i found out after wrote it all, i couldnt post it. So i made it into petition and tried everyway i could to make it into lower caps. I intended to only cap the key parts for the petition. So instead of rewriting it all, i had to post it as is. And it really depends. The knowledge to open a system is infact information that gets extracted or obtained through hardware that doesnt belong to you. Alot of legitimate programmers are called hackers. But thats just because its easier to tell people that your a hacker instead of "reverse engineer" or "security researcher" ect ect. Those people are not the same as people who hack into your computer though. And it needs to be defined differently.

And to the first guy. Do you see that huge wall of text. You spend the next 3 days researching reading court case after court case, forum after forum. Gathering up as much evidence as possible to defend our rights as hardware consumers. And then let people complain about grammar when you only had 12 hours of sleep in those past three days. And then add ADHD onto that. Im supporting our rights. Your complaining about grammar. What have you done to help the community around here? my petition raised 250 dollars for advertisement purposes to try and create a ps3 that was promised to us. If you have a legal argument state it. But grammar is no the issue here.

As you may or may not know, i created a petition about a week ago that has gained some success with a few hundred signatures. I decided that what i made was not the correct approach to a petition however and was more of a rant. I decided to take the past few days to write a very solid foundation for a petition that i would like the world to see, including congress. Please if you support this cause, help us by signing.
