As you may or may not know, i created a petition about a week ago that has gained some success with a few hundred signatures. I decided that what i made was not the correct approach to a petition however and was more of a rant. I decided to take the past few days to write a very solid foundation for a petition that i would like the world to see, including congress. Please if you support this cause, help us by signing.

Hey guys I need your support, I've started a petition in regards to what Sony has been doing. If you are interested check it out. We got 842 signatures so far but of curse we need more. I do appreciate your comments but Please don't comment whether this would work or not. I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone. I do believe that no matter what it's a way to send Sony a message, that we will do what we can for them to hear us. Everyone’s voice counts so Please check it.

What I don't get is, Sony makes hella money off other product... Why Sony has to complain about a stupid firmware... Why can't they think of it like a battle (well they did win this battle this time but not the war) like "hey! Geohotz and others crack the firmware... Let's see if they could crack this new firmware..." Like a on going battle... Instead of "mommy!!!! He hit me!!!! Wahhhh!!!!" running to the court... Like my boss at work says "so.... Whatever could be fix, just fix it. What's the point of complaining!!!

Can I start one for people to sign to ban forever those off the net that can't listen!

I just finished merging Another dozen of these sign this now threads into the first one again after I just finished doing the same a few hours ago!

I even made it a sticky to stand out so people would see it and read it and not make new threads but I guess that was not enough!

I think you should, i am sick of seing the same threads reworded a little different all the time.

I think, that if youre not making the ban petition lol
1st offence= a 1 week ban, 2nd= perm ban.
no warnings anymore, cus they dont seem to be working as far as i know, but the again i dont know since i am not in management.

He may be trying to do the right thing, but he is going about it the wrong way and he has gotten some of the premises wrong. Posting a gazillion threads about the same thing is definitely the wrong way(TM), and Sony does indeed have perfectly legal right to ban people from using PSN and they don't even need any reason for that. PSN is a service, it is not a quantifiable physical or virtual product and unless you have made a legally binding document signed by both parties clearly declaring all the different reasons why or whom they can ban you really have no legal standing whatsoever. Petitioning about it won't help.

As for actually modifying the physical product you have legally obtained: legally you SHOULD be within your rights to do whatever you wish with it as long as you don't break any other laws in the process. But this matter is still being fought over in court and thus it remains to be seen what the actual outcome is. Again, petitioning won't help as petitions have nothing to do with the court case and won't be regarded as evidence by the court.

Basically this petition really serves no real purpose, it may have been done in good faith but it will not change any of the outcomes.
