be sure to change the thermal pastte under the IHS, especially if you did a reflow or reball, extreme heat from reflow/reball can kill thermal paste, especially sonys crap. once it goes bad there is litterally NOTHING you can do to save it other than replacing the thermal paste between the IHS and RSX. i dont like fan mods, id rather fix the heart of the problem instead of putting a band-aid on it with a fan mod

you should consider buying some AC-5 (silver based) or MX-4 (ceramic based) and changing that stuff out. btw im not talking about the thermal paste on the heat sinks (but you should change that too.) im talking about the chip that says "RSX" on it. you need to pop off the IHS (integrated heat sink) and clean everything real good (use a razor blade to clean off the thermal epoxy off the 4 chips on each corner of the RSX) then once you have everything clean down real good, just use thermal paste everywhere. then reassemble very carefully.
there are youtube viceos on how to get the IHS off. you should be very careful taking the IHS off as you can damager the chip or the solder connection under the RSX.

its real simple to do tho imho. i can do this fix in probly 20 mins.

if you got the ps3 fixed properly with a reball... then this is what you should do, that console will run like a brand new one.

the shopkeeper is also taking about lose ball or some thing like that...
he also told me this ps3 may last 2 weeks or a year .. he said to use ps3 1hr and giving rest to it..!
somewhere
i saw that the cause can be internal ps3 power supply!!!!
so should i use external power supply??
thnk for help

A strategy that has worked for me so far on my 2nd hand CECHA01 that has had AC-5 thermal paste applied and adjustable fan speed mod already done to it:

Lying unit flat in an open area in an air conditioned room, propped up on four beer bottle lids to allow airflow from a pedestal fan to blow behind it/underneath it from the left hand side and a USB powered twin-fan laptop cooling unit sucking air through the grill on the right hand side of the console (With power coming from another device to prevent extra load on the PSU of course)

Overkill you say? I don't believe so for the fact that I reside in a very hot part of Australia... And besides, here in down under, the 2nd hand retail prices of EE/GS backwards compatible units is out of control... With brand new sealed units fetching well over a $1000 AUD on ebay

So I see it as protecting my investment, so to speak
