First off I couldn't really think of a better title for this thread as this PS3 has me stumped.
Second...I have searched this forum for answers of my problems and while i have seen the same issues that I have, they end up unanswered or looked over. I'm sure it's because there is no solution, but anyway....
I received a cechl01 console that had the "cannot start. Correct hard drive was not found" (or something along those lines). I got it to find a hard drive and it switched to "the software could not start correctly. insert 3.55 or later...." message. I tried to do just that. Had 3.55 on a stick and it would make it to 43-44% and shoot straight to 100% and went right back into the update loop.
I figured it was on 3.55 so I'd go ahead and downgrade and see what happens. Downgraded fine but RSOD. downgraded again to 3.41 then 3.40 and back to 3.55. Same results.
I realized that the drive has issues so I then decided to try ALL of the firmwares that by pass the blu-ray check and using the .self file that does the same. Still RSOD.
The best result is when I have the drive unplugged and downgrade in service mode. I can get it to start to boot. The wave is visible and sound is there but just before the PS3 logo RSOD.
As it is right now it is on the blu-ray bypass 3.15 firmware as I am out of ideas. It would seem to me that it is a XMB issue/nand problem? I don't know.
I know i am leaving out a lot of details i am sure. i have tried so many different things with varying results I just can't remember them all.
I'm just hoping that maybe someone has something to add here as to the issue that I may have missed in the threads as it seams this is unsolvable.
Oh and trying to update with the blu-ray bypass firmwares via recovery mode results in the 8002f2e6 every time. Regardless of what firmware i try.
Any insight into this issue would be great. Thanks.
