i bought a broken ps3, only thing wrong was supposedly no hard drive. i put a samsung 320 gb hdd that i pulled from a laptop in it. it formatted the hdd and supposedly installed the fw. but rebooted into RSOD. i can access the safe mode but nothing there seems to do anything. can someone point me to what i should do?
what model ps3 is it?
and what firmware?
I don't think there is a way to check the firmware version if it's RSOD.
well usually when one gets RSOD, a person would know what firmware it was on, and anyone who buys a ps3, what firmware it has.. should be one of the questions.Quote:

cechlo1, and when i first tried doin it it said insert flash drive with update 3.7x or newer, i did the OFW from sony which is 4.31
if theyll help any, i have an ipod touch 2g, although the backlight is out on it, almost impossible to see. and i have an htc imagio which is windows mobile 6.1
the best thing that you could do is downgrade, and then try the RSOD fix lv2diag.self
that may or may not fix it.
