repair question –
i have a problem here, first time ive seen this problem....
when you flip the main power on the back it immediately beeps and flashes red.
you dont even have to press the power button, looks just a ylod except no yellow light, of course, and plus it does it in standby.
tried a known working psu, but still no go.
another hint is that it will even do it with out the 12v rail of the psu connected, only the 5v (its a cechh0x model, so no 3.3v)
anyone ever saw this, or know whats the cause?
I haven't seen it myself. If I were you I might go ahead with a reflow of all the major chips anyway.
i did that already, while waiting on my bga nets to arrive from hk.
damn shop sent me the wrong ones, they are sending replacements....but regular mail, so ill pull the chips in 2-5 week.
in the mean time i await for comments.
i really think its some other component though, i thoroughly searched the board for damaged parts (to no avail)
Its caused by bridged solder under a BGA
