It's made clear that money is non refundable before you transfer, and in order to use their free online service (PSN) you need to upgrade to a non-modified firmware.
So if anyone has left money in their wallet and refuses to update to go onto the PSN then it's their own decision/fault.
I'm not sure Sony should be obliged to refund your cash because you refuse to use their service any more. And since you agreed you didn't want your money refunded when you clicked 'Transfer Funds' (which is when it states it's non refundable).
I know everyone on here is hating Sony right now, and to a degree I can understand this. But some of these screw Sony posts just don't make any sense. Not having a go at you or taking the piss, just making an observation.
It's like signing a contract then turning around six months later and saying "Actually I don't agree, I want my money back!"
When the provider changes the Terms of Service there is some legal recourse. If Sprint changes their Terms of Service you are given 30 days to get out of your contract ETF free. If you do not, you are assumed to have agreed to the new terms. This is a legal requirement and not a 'goodwill' of Sprint.
Likewise, Sony has updated their Terms of Service, when I log in to access my content, I am prompted to agree. I refuse to agree to the new terms and as such will fight for a refund of the content I am no longer authorized to access due to said change in terms.
Sony is saying "Hey we updated this contract, please sign here" and I am rejecting the new contract.
Will I get anything? Probably not, but not from lack of trying.
If I do, it is going to Geohot's legal fund.
