Red Screen NEED HELP FAST!!!

I have a 80gb backwards compatible ps3.. it has the red screen of death (rsod) i have tried goin into the boot menu and i have tried every option 1 through 6 and nothing is working.. I have been trying to research this but im getting sent through loops. I have read i need to brick it then unbrick it.. then i read that i need to get a nand reader/writer and clear the memory off the nand chip.. also i need to put knew thermanl paste on.. It was running fine till i had to update to 3.55.. if anyone has information that could help me please...

hey mate if you resolve this could you post what you did to fix it. ive got 2 PS3's with RSOD

In some cases, using a Jailbreak Dongle, and downgrading can fix it. I got one off Kijiji with the red screen, and actually did manage to fix it with downgrade.

I got it after updating from OFW to OFW 3.66 there is no downgrade aside from flashing nand via hardware right?
