Hello, I have a question. I have a PS3 that was stuck in the update loop, I reformated the hard drive in windows, and reset the battery(and it fixed the loop). But now it won't stay on, it turns on for about 30 seconds(no picture, just a black screen) then shuts off, I have tried the options in recovery mode, when I pick "Restore File System" then the TV goes black and shuts off about 30 seconds later. When I pick "Restore Default Settings" it would start for 5 seconds then the TV will go black and the ps3 will shut off after 30 seconds. When I pick "Restore Database" a message on screen says "The hard disk cannot be accessed." when I pick "Restore PS3 System" it says "Restoring System Settings... do not turn off the system" then says that the hard disk cannot be accessed, I have just picked Restore PS3 System again, and it says "Restoring default settings.. do not turn off the system." Can some one tell me what to do so that I can get back to using it again? By the way, I screwed up the blu-ray drive's clamp that holds the cable down, so I don't think that I can update it but, when you select "Update System" from the recovery menu, does it disable that stupid NAND check thing where it checks to make sure that every thing is plugged in and working right?

perhaps it overheated so you should have checked the fan. but by now you probably solved it.
