Ok the word from the man is this...
Aside from anything that may offend in the extreme, it's content as usual.
So that'll be no then.
lol you think I'm lying....
Nice... I could cut and paste the email, but that will reveal who I am, and I don't want to do that....
You also need to have a credit card from the country the ps3 was bought to buy any of the online content I found that out the hardway.
Which bit of...

Did you not understand...
F'tard
I've got more important things to do.

LoL... anyways, since I live in the UK as well, I'd wait for the release of the PS3 first in the UK, (let the pros examine the hardware changes, if any) and then decide.
P.S. £250?! that is CHEAP boy, the one coming is going to be like £425 (£175 difference). If I had 5 minutes to decide on buying, I will decide whether £175 is worth:
1) NTSC PAL thing...
2) English instruction booklet (or just dl off internet lol) or language.
3) Warranty? will it work in UK?
4) Hardware changes (if any)
5) DVD/Blu ray thing... (but I hardly watch DVD on ps2 - just there for me to feel more perfect about the console)
6) Petergriffen20 pointed out online content, which is probably true.
7) Backwards compatibility?
My 5 minutes are up and these are the questions I thought of. Hope it might be of some use. If some questions are just stupid, then I apologise, I didn't really research into ps3 yet...
