Perfectly fine! I keep my consoles on there side all the time. but be warned they can be knocked over a lot easier.

Why would you want to keep them on their side? Is their an advantage of having them on their side that i'm not aware of?

Not that I know of. I simply have limited space with both my PS3's on a single shelf with my TV.

This is pretty much it. I have an XBox, PS3 and Wii all sitting on their sides next to each other. They coexist in harmony by the way.

yes it is safe. but when u are backing up games. go hortizontal. there is debate.
once the ps3 is in a well ventilated area u should be fine in terms of over heating.

I never have kept mine vert as I heard that with the heat and flow of solder could cause problems, so it's more about what model your asking for (Slims should be fine)
