Is it possible to download a patch to a game without updating the firmware on my ps3? If for example I put modern warfare 2 in the drive I assume the first thing it's going to want to do is patch itself, is that going to update my firmware as well as mw2?

Is it possible to download patches, demos, etc.. from the psn and then move them onto my ps3 later over usb?
