But of course, if you are talking about the laser wearing out because the SM discs might be of low quality: I guess that it shouldn't be a too big of a problem because the reflectivity of the SM discs are still higher than a DVD-R discs's, and the disc will only be read by the laser for about 30 seconds per launch.
Pardon me if this sounds like a question from a n00b, but I have been using SM 3.6 on my SCPH-77006 console since I bought it in 2007, and have not noticed any issues. :X

@Thread OP: I got my Swapmagic 3.6 discs + Magic switch v3 set from Linker4u.
I got SM 3.6 instead of 3.8 back then since I had no use for the cheating functions (And would rather get something cheaper).
He meant swapping the Swapmagic Disc with another disc (E.g. another game disc).
