Hey All, I just would like to know the button mapping in the menus of RR7 USA version.
Is it like:
Cancel: O
Select: X
or the other way round, japanese style:
Cancel: X
Select: O ?
I'm talking about Ridge Racer 7 USA
Thanks,
TSR

Thanks B_o_F !
I'll therefore get the Japanese version.
I can't stand the US control scheme :/
Thank you,
TSR
umm. a soon as the game detects the US biosit will use theUS control scheme.
welcoem to the joys of blu-ray.![]()
That's why i got a jap PS3

You can change your lang to Japanese or use Japanese Firmware and have that control scheme with the US version of the game.
Is the button mapping stored in the firmware?
Interesting!
That'd be contrary to the PSP system where button mapping is NOT stored in the fw.
And the US game on a jpn system would have jpn controls if lang is set to Japanese? All the more interesting!
Later,
TSR
I was guessing I'm not positive.
Interesting infos:
Jap RR7 on a Jap PS3 will has two button mapping behaviors:
If language is set to english: X is confirm and O is cancel.
If language is set to Japanese: O is confirm and X is cancel.
However, new games and demos from PSN don't seem to query the language setting anymore!!
ie; regarldess of the language setting, O is confirm and X is cancel on Jpn PS3 and X is confirm / O is cancel on US & EURO PS3.
So while early games checked the language setting for the button mapping, it seems newer ones check the console kernel!!
And for me who has always despised X = select, it is excellent news indeed.
enter is O most jap games play that way
