question about ps3 and internet

as long as i dont connect to psn there is no way they could know im using the ps3 with cfw right?? i have been using a straight connection ps3 to pc to transfer files with network cable and multiman. but i also want to use the web browser and go online so that means i need to connect my ps3 to the router and get a ip address.

to make it short-- can sony tell if im using cfw even though im not signing into psn?

i dont think so, i think you should be fine since your not logged inn to psn, thats what i do
