I get the following error while I'm trying to play a game on the Playstation Network: 80010017. I'm using a Trueblue dongle and firmware. So is that error appearing because I'm on a low firmware? I know the error stands for that the bluray player couldn't read the data on the disk. But this is a PSN game so I don't understand why this error appears.

error code 80010017 means you are trying to run a game or a game with an update that is higher than 3.55. 3.56 games can be fixed with a PARAM.SFO edit, but if the game is higher than 3.60 without a patch it's not going to work or you've installed a 3.60+ update you'll have to delete the game data and start over

Actually if the update is 3.6+ just find the latest 3.55 compatible eboot and replace the one in the update folder. that way you dont have to delete it. though this may cause issues with some titles so if it does delet the data and start fresh. though that may delete DLC.

usually DLC is easily identified by the folder name or just the EDAT extension. Navigate to dev_hdd0/game/GAMEID/USRDIR and move out any DLC you may have, delete the update data and only update to a 3.55 compatible version. Then you just move the DLC back and you're fine

So by using mad mike his solution I can play LBP2 online? Also is there a solution to play a new PSN game like Journey for example? I don't mind buying it. But is there a work around without getting the 80010017 error?

you most likely will not get online the point is simply to make sure you save your DLC... Some titles may allow you online with a simple PARAM.SFO file edit but most of the time no. It's best to buy a second PS3 or an E3 flasher to use online titles. FYI use retail titles only online.
