PS3 YLOD... Can't solve the problem
PS3 YLOD... Can't solve the problem –
My PS3 (60GB CECHC04) YLODed 2 months ago... I've done the reflow (even on the reballing machine) but nothing happened. I've tried this:
quote from this tutorial ( ebookbrowse com/ylod-fix-english-pdf-d37452273 )
"Now switch the main switch to 1. The
LED on the reset-board should now
glow red. Switch it on by touching the
right metallic part on the reset-board. If
you had an YLOD before, you should
now get an YLOD-type behaviour as
well (one beep, short green light, green
and red light (it's only yellow when the case is on, because the green and red light mix), three beeps,
flashing red light). Switch it off and then on again like that for about 20 times, then quickly turn the
main switch to 0 again, unplug the power supply pack an the reset-board, flip the board and touch
the RSX and Cell chip. The Cell chip should get really hot and the RSX chip at least warm. If that is
the case, they're both most likely fine, if one stays cold, you'll have to reflow that one (chapter 3.4.).
If both stay cold, it's more likely that a safety fuse is broken instead of both chips, you can still try a
CELL chip is getting hot and the RSX is warm, according to pdf the problem is not in them...
Tried this ( www youtube com/watch?v=KCosVReAmLo )... doesn't work for men...
Tested the PSU like this (www youtube com/watch?v=xmFFd8tT_kM ) - it shows 0V to me... Mine is APS-227, but i don't think that matters.
When i start the PS3 the fan spins, but i can't do the FAN test...
Is there any other reasons, i've tried everything i found on the internet...?
Hi. I have reflowed my ps3 2ce now. (i am actually in the process right now). it's a 60gb launch ps3.
The first time it broke I had to send it in b/c i did not know about the reflow... second time it went i did the reflow and it worked. SO i thought I would get another 60gb model and reflow it (paid 80$ for it) tried the reflow, and it didnt work.
After a lot of searching on that, i found out that the YLOD doesnt necessarily mean CPU or GPU problem but another problem altogether. It could be another part of the board hardware that is fauly. the first time I sent it in to Sony, they told me it was the Wifi/networking adaptor. Others online stated it could have been something as simple as an hdd error....
my hdd was failing recently, but I did not try a new one, and i didnt get a chance to back it up... but if this reflow works then I can just pop it back in no problems.
Hope this info helps.... if you still cant fix it, maybe bight the bullet and get a new slim... im tempted to sell this one if I can get it to work.......
Getting a new PS3 is not a problem... But i want to backup my HDD which is 640GB.
The info on that PDF is rubbish! Telling you to do it for 20 times!! YLoD is indeed a "General Hardware Failure" which could be anything, but 98% of the time it is the GPU, and sometimes a reflow will not fix it, sometimes it needs a reball, sometimes it even needs a new GPU. The other 2% is either the CPU needs a reflow/reball or the Southbridge or RAM needs reflowing or reballing.
Unless you have reballed the GPU or replaced it with another one I would not look elsewhere. My procdeure goes as follows.
Reflow GPU -> Test -> Reball GPU -> Test -> Replace GPU -> Test -> Reflow CPU -> Test -> Reflow Southbridge -> Test -> Reflow RAM -> Test
If it starts working after any of the tests I stop there, however I usually reball the GPU regardless, even if a reflow works, just for peace of mind.
Hi i just want to find out if there is anything i do to get games like rugby world cup 2011 to work with original disc im running kneaw 3.55 and the game needs to update to 3.66 ofw i dont have it attached to a pc just want to find out if theres like a patch blocker or something
Thanks in advance
Think you're in the wrong place mate! This is a YLoD thread, not a jailbreaking thread.
