Well here in Canada, PS3 repairs are handled by MTC (a third-party contractor). -- They have some major rules:

So far, the slims I have see, have been at least one or more of the those types above, plus also some people care about their GAME SAVES and/or disc stuck inside more, and if you send the unit to MTC you will lose all of that.
Too bad, Sony does not allow you to swap drives and keep your data, it was nice of them to add the "data transfer" feature finally in v3.15 firmware, but that only helps if your unit is still in working shape!

I have everything i need to do anything a full warranty shop has outside of access to service information. But I dont need that I just need good information found on the internet, i'll get this honey rolling again.
